It depends on how much there is to fix, and we’d rather tell you a real number than a fake one. Projects get a fixed price against a written scope before anything starts. Ongoing work is a flat monthly rate. One call is usually enough for us to tell you the size, and there’s no setup fee either way.

Is this ongoing or one-time?

Both, and they’re priced differently. A project is a defined piece of work with a scope, a price, and an end. Ongoing work is a flat monthly rate for keeping things running and changing them as you change. Plenty of people start with a project and move to ongoing afterward, because the thing we built keeps needing to change and paying twice for that’s worse than budgeting for it.

What if I don’t know what I need?

Most people don’t. Show up with "this part of our week is broken" and we’ll work from there. Figuring out what to do is half the job.

What if our problem isn’t really 'digital'?

Bring it anyway. A surprising amount of what looks like an operational problem turns out to have a small digital fix. If it really isn’t our wheelhouse, we’ll say so on the first call and point you somewhere helpful.

What if our site has been neglected for years?

That’s the common case, not the embarrassing one. Old contacts, a document library nobody has pruned, content added by six different people, a design from a few jobs ago. We take stock of what’s there, fix what’s costing you something, and get it current. The smallest useful first step counts.

Do we have to switch software?

No. We build around what you already run. Switching costs you months and gains you nothing.

Our software vendor already offers this.

Sometimes, on their higher plans. Compare what the upgrade costs against what you’d actually use from it. If their version wins, we’ll tell you.

What if it gets something wrong?

It queues, you approve. Nothing reaches the public that you haven’t seen.

How is this different from an agency?

No six-month timelines, no account managers, no relay race of strangers. You work directly with the same person all year. When we quote a project it’s a fixed price against a written scope, not an hourly estimate that grows.

How is this different from a freelancer?

Continuity. Same person every month, not a new one every time something breaks. We keep the things we build running between requests, not just when you remember to call. And we handle the project management. You bring the problem, we run with it.

How does the work actually happen?

First call, we agree on the first thing to fix. You’re using it within days. After that, you ask for whatever else through email, text, or a call. We work it. No tickets, no portal, no project manager on your end.

How long until we see something working?

Days, not months. The first thing we build is narrow on purpose. One problem, one fix. So we can have it live fast and you can feel the difference.

Do you work with cities and counties?

Yes, and it’s a good part of what we do. We can work as a contract webmaster on an annual agreement or take on a defined project like a redesign or an accessibility remediation. We provide a written scope of work, quote as a not-to-exceed, and can structure the whole thing around your fiscal year. W-9 and certificate of insurance on request.

Can you help us meet the ADA Title II deadline?

That’s the work. The standard is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Entities with a population of 50,000 or more have until April 26, 2027, and smaller entities and special districts have until April 26, 2028. We audit, remediate, and document what was fixed so you’ve something to show. Then we keep new content from putting you back where you started.

Can you respond to an RFP?

Yes. Send it over. If it’s an informal solicitation we can turn a quote around quickly, and if it’s a formal one we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re a real fit before either of us spends the time.

Is there a contract? What if we stop?

Projects are covered by the scope of work and end when the work is delivered. Ongoing work for businesses is month to month, pause or cancel anytime. For public entities it’s an annual agreement that renews with your fiscal year, with no early termination penalty. If ongoing work stops, anything we host stops running and you get your data as a CSV file. Same as letting any other contractor go.

Yes, under the hood, for the parts where it helps. What you buy is the outcome. What we care about is that it’s right, that you approve it, and that it tells you when it isn’t sure.

What this covers

This policy is about ridgexventures.com, the website. It is not about work we do for clients. If we are working together, the agreement we signed says how we handle your data, and that agreement controls.

What we collect

What you send us. If you fill in the form on the contact page, we receive what you typed: your name, your email address, and whichever of the optional fields you filled in, which may include your organization, your website address, what you need doing, a date, a solicitation number and a department.

What gets recorded automatically. Our host keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, the pages you requested, the time, and your browser and device type. Our analytics records which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and how visits move through the site.

What we do not do

There are no accounts on this site and no payments. There is no newsletter and no mailing list. We do not sell your information, we do not buy it, and we do not run advertising here or anywhere else. Nothing you send us through the form is used to build a profile of you, and our analytics is not connected to any advertising product.

Which companies receive it

Three, and this is the part worth reading. Each one is a company we chose, and each one holds something.

Vercel hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above. Its analytics also records which pages were viewed and roughly where in the world the visit came from, without setting cookies or storing an identifier that follows you.
Google runs the other analytics. It records the same kind of thing in more detail, and unlike Vercel’s it sets cookies in your browser, receives your IP address, and loads from a Google server rather than from ours.
Formspree takes the contact form submission and delivers it to our inbox. It holds a copy on its own systems.

Your message then sits in our email, with our email provider, like any other email you might have sent us.

If you would rather not use the form, write to hello@ridgexventures.com and Formspree never sees it. If you are sending anything sensitive or confidential, do that instead, and read the note about confidential material in our terms.

Cookies

The site itself does not need cookies to work, and nothing we build here uses them. Google Analytics does. It sets a couple in your browser so it can tell a returning visit from a new one.

You can block or delete them in your browser settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics everywhere. Blocking either costs you nothing here: every page works exactly the same way without them, because nothing on this site is behind a login or remembers anything about you.

How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in our email for as long as they are useful, which for a project we worked on means for the life of the business record, and for one that went nowhere means until we clear it out. Server logs and analytics are kept for the retention period each provider applies, which we do not control beyond the settings they offer. If you want your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Wherever you live, you can ask us for any of those and we will do it. Write to hello@ridgexventures.com. We will not make you fill in a form or charge you for it.

Children

This site sells services to organizations. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. We do not keep a public archive of older versions; if you need to know what it said on a particular date, ask.
